Motives Tutorial: Daytime/Everyday Highlight & Contour

In this video, Hello Fritzie shows how she highlights and contours all the way to her collar bone.

First, start with a clean face.  Don’t forget to use a toner and to moisturize.

Next, apply Motives Perfecting Face Primer to your face and neck. This will provide an even surface to apply your makeup and will allow your makeup to last longer.

Apply the lightest color foundation from the Motives Color Perfection Quad in Medium on the bridge of your nose, your forehead, your brow-bone, under your eye, your Cupid’s bow, your chin, above your jaw line, and optionally your collar bone.

Now apply the darkest color from the same quad to create your contour. Contour the sides of your nose, your hair line, jaw line, under your cheek bones, and your neck. Optionally, you may contour your collar bone. Using a sponge, blend out your highlight first and then your contours. Hello Fritzie recommends using a dabbing and rolling motion.

You could stop here and set your foundation with Motives 10 Year’s Younger Setting Spray OR you can set it using the Motives Shape & Sculp Duo with a buffing brush or any similar brush. Set your highlight with the lighter color from the duo. Then set your contour with the darker color from the duo.

Apply the darker color again using a C412 blending brush to contour your lip and your nose.

Apply Motives for La La Mineral Blush in Envy to the apple of your cheeks and a little bit on your chin and you are finished with your highlighting and contouring.

The next steps are optional to finish your daytime look:

Apply Motives Pressed Eyeshadow in Cappuccino to define your lid areas. Then highlight with Motives Pressed Eyeshadow in Antique Pink on your brow bones and the inner corners of your eyes.

Use Motives for La La Khol Eyeliner in Earth to darken your lash line.  Use an angled brush to set the eyeliner.

Use Motives Khol Eyeliner in Angel to open up your eyes so that you look awake.

Curl your eye lashes with Motives Eyelash Curler. Then apply Motives #111 False Eyelashes with Motives Lash Adhesive.  Use Motives for La La Mineral Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara in Black to lengthen your lashes.

Now, finish up your look with Motives Mineral Lipstick in Roseberry.
